Ladies Captain's Report 2018
Despite only having 25 Lady members our season went from strength to strength, with each member willingly stepping up and standing in when called upon , only two of our scheduled matches were cancelled this was due to both the other clubs not having enough ladies on the day.
We entered two teams in the Gladys Rowland with our team A, getting as far as the semi-finals, no other team fielded from Hailsham has achieved this feat (next year, who knows). We also had teams entered in 'The Life Boat Triples' again all teams got through to round 2 with one team reaching the finals, another feather in our cap. The Eastbourne league started off as a slow burner however once we started getting used to playing the same teams on a regular basis we ended up steaming ahead , all positive for next season .Our 'Ladies Invitation' was a resounding success and proved financially very rewarding.
I would like to say a special thanks to Jo Brand who organised the 'Harris Bowl' which went like clockwork thanks to her hard work and enthusiasm. Our catering teams also done excellent jobs and we now have the reputation for great food and service with a smile.
I have enjoyed the season and am grateful to all the ladies who stood in as vice captains, thanks also to Bobby B, it was a good learning curve as well as fun team picking and organising various events, I was also very lucky to have Rita Smith as my partner in crime.
Onwards and upwards for next year
