President's Day
Our annual President’s Charity event, held on Saturday 23rd September, is a day where our members come together for an afternoon of fun bowling & games but primarily with a view to raising money for a chosen charity. Our President chose Parkinson’s UK this year as her charity, since we recently lost a member to this disease and have 2 other members currently in its grip.
Well, what a fabulous afternoon was had by our members and invited guest from Hailsham House Care Home (Aurem Care), our newest sponsor who supplied the delicious cake. Thankfully the rain stayed away and the sun shone all afternoon giving us the perfect day. We were also honoured to have Ian, the Chairman from our local Hailsham branch of Parkinson’s UK to open the afternoons proceedings.
The response from our members was absolutely phenomenal and they did the club proud by digging deep into their pockets to raise more than £800, the highest amount we have ever raised at this event.
Well done to all those who took part and those who donated in their absence to make this our most successful Charity Day for this worthy cause.
