Centenary Cup Competition
On Saturday 2nd September our Centenary Cup mixed triples league competition, which began in May, reached its final round. It was a close-run competition, which went down to the last match, with the victors being The Wrong Biases, comprising of Mike Cooke (skip), Steve Fuller, Nick Hayles, John Mack, Kathy Pease & Lesley Wright.
It was a glorious afternoon with many members coming to support their teams. The atmosphere was warm, as was the weather, but the drinks were cold at the bar served by our resident bar staff of Trevor & Wendy.
The presentation was presided over by our former Chairman, Bobby Bennett and his wife Jenny, who donated the cup & trophies, for this one-off competition in commemoration of this, our Centenary Year.
To end a perfect day our Social Secretary Lynda Mack & her team organised and served everyone with a supper of fish & chips from our local sponsor John’s Fish Bar. The perfect end to a perfect day and competition.
