Each year the County play, a number of friendly 'County matches' against other Counties and also a number of Executive matches against clubs and organisations within our County - these are often to celebrate the Centenary of the club, the opening of a new clubhouse, etc., etc.

When selecting players for County Friendly matches, the selectors are required to predominantly select - County Badged players - but are permitted to select one or two highly recommended - unbadged players.  (It should be noted that the Women's Section will not play any player who does not hold a County Badge).

Each year, several players indicate they wish to play for the County, but for one reason or another are not chosen by the selectors to play in any of the 'County Friendly' matches.  The oppoertunity now - to indicate a wish to be also considered to play - in the internal County Executive matches - will if selected, give these players the opportunity to be seen, which may enhance their chances of being selected for the County Friendly matches.  

All bowlers throughout the County are therefore encouraged to put their names down for possible selection in both County and Executive Matches.   If you are interested in representing the County and wish to be considered - whether you are a badged player or not - PLEASE FULLY COMPLETE AND SUBMIT FORM 2B. 

THE FORM F2B -  MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE PLAYER and forwarded - to the Hon. County Secretary - prior to 1st February, 2023.

BY COMPLETING THIS FORM, A PLAYER GIVES IMPLICIT CONSENT FOR HIS CONTACT DETAILS AS SUPPLIED, TO BE STORED AND MADE AVAILABLE AND USED FOR LEGITIMATE REASONS.

ALL applications received will be considered by the Selection Committee and the names of any players considered suitable will be included in the list passed to your Divisional Selectors. About March time, your selector will send you an email asking for your availability for the first few matches of the season - and then similarly at intervals during the season, for other matches. Players who fail to have the courtesy to respond - may be removed form the list.

NB.  Selectors will be using EMAIL addresses to contact players  – please ensure ALL INFORMATION REQUESTED IS COMPLETED AND IS LEGIBLE – IT IS USELESS IF IT CANNOT BE READ!! PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARE ABLE TO QUOTE AN EMAIL ADDRESS YOU CAN BE CONTACTED THROUGH. Thank you.

Under the revised Selection Policy brought in for the start of the 2016 season, a player may now be selected for several game during the season if he is considered suitable and as from 2019 an unbadged player, will receive 1 Credit point for each game he is - initially selected - to play in.
