The “Friendship Cup” is a new event added to our internal competitions for 2024 in memory of past members George & May Urben, whose family kindly donated the cup in their honour.
The competition, which took place on Saturday 6th July, saw mixed pairs come together to challenge for this brand-new trophy.
After some interruptions from the weather the cup was awarded to Joy & Nick Hayles, who pipped Rita & Pat Smith to the post.
The day ended with members coming together to enjoy a delicious BBQ cooked by Peter & Tony, with cold drinks supplied by our bar team of Wendy & Trevor.
Congratulations to all participants who can try again next year to win this magnificent trophy.
