VIEW Craft Coffee Morning Success!

There was a wonderful turn out of members, both past and present, together with their families and friends. The clubhouse and area outside the clubhouse were full and the camaraderie was excellent.
Several ladies made a wide variety of cakes which were served together with tea, coffee and cold drinks by our social ladies. Yvonne Dibble supplied and dressed a fluffy golden puppy and produced a selection of 77 names (both male and female) so people could select a name to raise more money for the Charity. Alan Dibble and Tony Wooller set up and looked after target bowls also raising more money for the charity.
Following an introduction from Kathy, our President, Tina, the Chairperson from VIEW Craft gave an outline of the history of VIEW Craft and several of the eye conditions which their members live with. Tina also said that to get to and from VIEW Craft each member is collected from their own home and returned home later by the volunteers. The majority of volunteers then stay and assist the members with their craft work. Tina explained a variety of the crafts which take place on different craft tables and her assistants handed round samples so those present could see the high standard of work that is produced. Each craft table has a tutor. Several people present asked a variety of questions which Tina was happy to answer.
There were craft items available to purchase and a number were sold.
In addition to raising funds the aim was to let people know about VIEW Craft and it emerged that there are people interested in going along to have a look once the group is open again after the summer holidays.
I am very pleased to say we raised the magnificient sum of £275 on the coffee morning – well done everyone. Thank you all.
